From an island home of just over half a million people, Tasmanian whisky was always destined for export markets. With forecast annual production growth of approx 32% for the industry in 23/24, a projected production value of approx A$424m and projected volume of over 32m litres of spirit, it may seem like a lot of distilled spirit, however this is only a drop in the ocean when compared to global consumption 1. With single-malt whisky and gin leading the way, the opportunity for vodka, brandy and other whisky products are yet to be fully realised.
